Coffee worth
slowing down for.

We source single-origin lots we love, roast them ourselves in small batches, and pour them across the bar in a room built for conversation and long mornings.

On the shelf, right now

A rotating lineup. When a lot is gone, it’s gone — we don’t re-order to hit a shelf.

What we do

Three things, done properly.

No secret menus, no proprietary blends. Just careful sourcing, careful roasting, and a café we’re proud to invite you into.

01 · Sourcing

Single-origin, chosen with care

Every bag on our shelf is a single lot from a single farm or co-op. Right now that means bright washed Ethiopians, honey-processed Colombians, and a rotating Guatemalan we cup weekly. We tell you where it came from and how it was grown — no blends hiding behind marketing copy.

02 · Roasting

Roasted here, in small batches

Our drum roaster lives in the back of the shop, not a warehouse across town. We roast to profile a couple of times a week so the beans on our shelf are days off the cooling tray — not months. Come by on a roasting morning and you’ll smell it before you see it.

03 · The café

A room built for staying a while

Warm wood, quiet music, real chairs — not a bar stool marched off in twenty minutes. Whether you’re here for a fast pour-over or you’ve brought a notebook and no plans, the café is set up to earn your morning.

More on our approach

“A great cup of coffee is never accidental. It’s a hundred small choices you can taste in the last sip.”

About Brewline

A small Portland roaster, doing one thing on purpose.

Brewline started the way most good things do — with a couple of people who were tired of forgettable coffee and a garage roaster that never quite behaved. What began as weekend batches for friends turned into a café on Portland’s Central Eastside, then a proper drum roaster in the back, then a routine we’re still improving.

We only buy coffee we’d drink ourselves, we only roast what we can move in a couple of weeks, and we only put out espresso we’re happy to hand you. It’s not a philosophy; it’s just how we like to work.

We’d rather sell one great bag than ten decent ones.

From the room

What people say when
we’re not listening.

A few kind words from regulars, subscribers, and folks who wandered in for a flat white and stayed for a second.

“The washed Ethiopian they had last month ruined every other pour-over for me. Genuinely the best cup I’ve had this year.”

Marta K.

Regular · Southeast Portland

“It’s the room as much as the coffee. Every café says ‘come stay a while’ and this is one of the few that actually means it.”

Devon R.

Freelance designer

“I go out of my way to get bags from Brewline for the office. The team can tell you exactly which farm it came from, which I love.”
